First through Fifth Grade Sunday School
If your child is in First thru Fifth Grade, these classes are made for them!
Where do we go?
Upon arrival, please check your child in at the check-in desk in the Children’s Wing. Crestwood uses “Kid Check” software to provide a safe secure environment for your child.
When the children arrive at 9:30 they will first go to Angel Choir, directed by Rhiannon Jackson and Doug Michael in Lollis Chapel (just past the Sanctuary). This group performs for the congregation several times a year as well as reaching out into the community.
At 9:50 the children are escorted by their teachers to their Sunday School classes which will typically meet in the Arts and Crafts room and the Flex Space. Because these groups participate in rotation classes, their meeting place depends on the workshop they are doing. Classes will be divided as follows: Group I-grades 1 and 2. Group 2-grades 3 through 5. Please check the Children’s News each week for class location so you will know where to pick up your children. Be sure to have your Kid Check Guardian receipt with you for pick-up
Curriculum: Spark House Rotation is the curriculum we use with our First-Fifth grade students. With Spark Rotation, kids explore one Bible story for one to two weeks, attending a different workshop each week. In every workshop, kids open the Bible and dig into the story in lively, age-appropriate ways. Workshop options include: Art, Bible Skills and Games, Cooking, Creative Drama, Music, Science, and Video. We believe that kids learn in different ways. Spark House Rotation taps into the multiple intelligence theory and allows kids to dive deeper into the story through hands-on interaction!
