I’m Kory Wilcoxson, and I have the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor here at Crestwood. I’ve been here since November of 2009, having served in Chicago and Indianapolis before coming here. I have degrees in communication and journalism to go along with my religious studies, and I’m currently pursuing my Doctor of Ministry degree. I have two daughters, Sydney and Molly, who keep me humble and bring me much joy. I’m so blessed to serve this amazing congregation and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!

I describe myself as a “child of God doing the best I can with what I have today!”
I grew up in Beckley, WV and am still proud to be a “mountaineer!” I moved to Kentucky to attend Lexington Theological Seminary in the late 80’s and have been a Cats fan ever since. In my 27+ years of ministry, I have served churches in Lexington and Burlington, Kentucky.
I love ministry and its sacred path. I am grateful for the call. I work with the Care Ministries, Outreach Teams and Senior Adults. It is a gift to try to offer comfort to ones who face challenges. It is a blessing to work to provide ways to care for those in need and to foster opportunities for individuals to find ways to make the world a better place.
When not found doing any of these things, I like to play cards with friends and ball with my black lab! I enjoy being in nature…as long as the nature doesn’t slither!

DO NOT DELE
Melissa is originally from Harrodsburg, where she attended Harrodsburg High School. She played college sports at Berea College where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education/Language Arts. Melissa received her Master’s in Education from the University of Kentucky in 1999. Since then, she has been a middle school and high school teacher, coached high school basketball and softball, served as a policy and procedures consultant for the state of Kentucky, worked as a Medical Education Specialist, and served as an Executive Administrative Assistant in Healthcare. Melissa recently moved back to Harrodsburg after the passing of her husband who was a family practice physician. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews. They keep her busy with sports and school events, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She loves taking professional pictures for the local sporting venues and making posters for her clients. Her other hobbies include: camping, 4wheeling, walking, reading, working in the yard, and singing.
I’m a 31 year young loving mama to two wonderful children. When I’m not outside in the garden with my little ones, I enjoy fostering sisterhood, community, and growing through art-lead self-expression and self-awareness, putting inner thoughts and feelings into an external form, a personal vision. I’m a very sensitive person and have a big heart for everyone and all creatures. I find beauty and positivity in all things I focus my mind and time on. I am so excited to join Crestwood full-time and contribute my energy and time to such a wonderful and loving place!
Born in Maysville, but raised in a small town in Ohio, I returned to Kentucky in 1978, and continue to call Lexington home. I have raised 4 children and have 8 grandchildren.
After studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Kentucky, I spent several years teaching preschool and 10 years working with the children’s programs at Tate’s Creek Presbyterian Church. I have been the Children’s Coordinator at Crestwood Christian Church since April 2015. In 2013 I became a Certified Baby Sign Language Instructor, and offer baby signs play classes for babies who have not yet developed a full vocabulary but have the desire to make their wishes known.
My love of animals keeps me busy early mornings and late evenings with visits to the small barn where I board my horses. I enjoy trail riding, but I’m content just spending time with the 2 trail horses, the mini donkey and the mini horse I call my babies. I also enjoy gardening and backyard bird watching.
I have been music director here at Crestwood since 2006. I received a BME and MME from University of Kentucky and teach orchestra in the Fayette County School system. I have four children: Courtney Hathorn, Ann Reigle, Stewart Spragens and Paige Spragens.
A native of West Virginia, Jane Johnson received a B.M.M.E. degree from the University of Kentucky where she studied organ with Prof. Arnold Blackburn. While a student of Schuyler Robinson, she earned a Master of Music degree with an emphasis in Sacred Music from UK, and a Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Church Music from Lexington Theological Seminary. Jane has been a church organist for over 40 years. Since 2000 she has served as organist at Crestwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lexington. Jane is a Colleague of the American Guild of Organists, and also holds the Guild’s Service Playing Certificate. She is currently serving a third term as Dean of the Lexington Chapter AGO. When not on the organ bench, Jane plays upright bass with the Backroom String Band and Celtic harp with the Heartland Harp Ensemble. She is retired from the College of Fine Arts at UK. Jane and her husband Bill spend their spare time touring the back roads in their antique cars.
Children’s Choir Director
I am a Lexington native and am very glad to be back home! I attended Crestwood and sang in the choir my last year in Lexington before moving away, and am so excited to be back as part of the staff!
As the K-5 Children’s Choir Director, I feel very strongly about using our voices to worship the Lord, and I hope to pass on that passion to the kids! I will mix traditional and common temporary worship music, and make the experience enjoyable and fulfilling for the kids! I can’t wait to get started singing some fun music with your students!
I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from UK in 2013, and have two years of classroom teaching under my belt, and this will be year three, but my first year as an elementary music teacher in Franklin County. My husband and I just got married in April and we are both thrilled to have teaching jobs in the area!
