Nursery
Our nursery staff is pleased to welcome infants through four years old. Nursery is offered all morning beginning with first service at 8:30 AM. There are two classrooms in our nursery suite including a little potty bathroom and quiet room for nursing mothers.
8:30 AM Service
– No children’s worship at the early service, but the nursery is available.
Sunday School Hour (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM)
9:30 AM – 10 :00 AM Children’s Music (preschool – fifth grade). Join us for this hands-on experience where the kids work with musical instruments, sing, and play games. Our children’s music director oversees the program and helps prepare the kids to sing in worship multiple times throughout the year. The children music room is the purple door on the left side of our children’s wing.
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM Children’s Sunday School (preschool – 5th grade). This class meets in our art room off the main hallway. Whether it’s acting out stories, colorful projects, or diving into stories, our volunteer teaching team encourages children to explore faith in creative ways. Parents and guardians pick up at 10:30 AM to prepare for worship in the sanctuary.
Note: There are Sundays where we have a full hour of children’s music or an hour of children’s Sunday school.
10:45 AM Service
Parents are welcome to check children into the nursery prior to the start of worship. For all other ages, families begin worship together in the sanctuary. Following the opening hymn and first scripture reading, kids are invited to come forward for children’s time. After we pray, kids and volunteers go back to the children’s wing and break off into age groups:
- Little Shepherds (2-4 years old) – This group meets in the nursery and is overseen by nursery staff. Leaders share from a story bible with a follow up activity (sticker sheets, coloring, etc.).
- Worship & Wonder – Lambs (Preschool – Kindergarten) & Lions (1st – 2nd grade) – Our Worship & Wonder program is led by trained storytellers and supported by volunteers. Everything in the classrooms is at the child level with low shelving and floor mats. Bible stories come to life through wooden characters and pieces and children get to choose an activity responding to the story (art, blocks, puzzles, sensory sand, etc.). We end with a “feast” of graham crackers, light our Christ candle, and share in a blessing for the week ahead.
- Bridge (3rd – 5th grade) – This volunteer led program meets in the yellow classroom of the children’s wing. Kid’s gather for a hands-on lesson, share joys & concerns, and dive into scripture. Third graders receive their student bibles in the fall after crossing over from the Worship & Wonder program. Bridge students lead adult worship in the sanctuary once a year for Universal Children’s Sunday.
