Crestwood Men’s Group
The Crestwood Men’s Group draws together men from all ages and walks of life for fun, fellowship, stimulating discussions – and, of course, food! Our Men’s Group has two primary gatherings each month:
Men of Crestwood Lunch – Once a month we gather at a local restaurant to share lunch together. We enjoy getting to know each other better as we take this break in our day. Everyone is welcome! Check the newsletter or the calendars on the website for information on the next lunch.
Men’s Breakfast – On the third Saturday of each month, the men gather in Chalice Hall at 8:30 a.m. for fellowship and discussion. You bring your breakfast, we’ll provide the conversation! Past topics have included “Science vs. Religion,” “Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People,” “God of the Old Testament vs. God of the New Testament” and “Where Did We Get the Bible?” You are welcome to join us!
Kentucky Regional Men’s Chorus
One of the unique aspects of Men’s Ministry in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kentucky is the Regional Men’s Chorus. The group is made up of Disciple men from across the Commonwealth and beyond. No auditions are held and the membership if constantly changing. Beginning in 1994, the Chorus was the inspiration of John Elkins (Clintonville), then President of the Regional Men’s Cabinet, and brought to reality through the diligent leadership of Greg Alexander, then Associate Regional Minister. Crestwood has had a significant representation in this group. The most recent retreat, in February at Jenny Wiley State Park, had 6 Crestwood men in attendance. The Chorus was also joined by the Backroom Bluegrass Band, made up of mostly Crestwood members. See below for some pictures taken during performances at that retreat.
