I’m Kory Wilcoxson, and I have the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor here at Crestwood. I’ve been here since November of 2009, having served in Chicago and Indianapolis before coming here. I have degrees in communication and journalism to go along with my religious studies. My wife, Leigh, and I have two daughters, Sydney and Molly, and two dogs, Jack and Sadie. In my free time I love to golf, run, read, and hang with my family.

I’m so blessed to serve this amazing congregation and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!

Kory has a blog, click here to check it out!

Trish Standifur

Associate Minister

trish@crestwoodchristian.org

I describe myself as a “child of God doing the best I can with what I have today!”

I grew up in Beckley, WV and am still proud to be a “mountaineer!”  I moved to Kentucky to attend Lexington Theological Seminary in the late 80’s and have been a Cats fan ever since.  In my 27+ years of ministry, I  have served churches in Lexington and Burlington, Kentucky.

I love ministry and its sacred path.  I am grateful for the call.   I work with the Care Ministries, Outreach Teams and Senior Adults.  It is a gift to try to offer comfort to ones who face challenges. It is a blessing to work to provide ways to care for those in need and to foster opportunities for individuals to find ways to make the world a better place.

When not found doing any of these things, I like to play cards with friends and ball with my black lab! I enjoy being in nature…as long as the nature doesn’t slither!

Office Administrator & Pianist (Early Worship Service)

office@crestwoodchristian.org

As office administrator and early service pianist, I enjoy the diversity in my dual role at Crestwood. I’m a native of Virginia and graduate of The College of William and Mary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I volunteer in the music ministry at Calvary Baptist church, where my husband Warren is Minister of Music. We moved to Lexington in 2015 from Charlotte after working together in music ministry in churches in three states. We have two children, Clara (age 24) and Andrew (1990-2010.) My favorite things to do are travel, read, and snuggle with our beagle-basset Ginger.

Peggy King

Children’s Coordinator

peggy@crestwoodchristian.org

Born in Maysville, but raised in a small town in Ohio, I returned to Kentucky in 1978, and continue to call Lexington home. I have raised 4 children and have 8 grandchildren.

After studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Kentucky, I spent several years teaching preschool and 10 years working with the children’s programs at Tate’s Creek Presbyterian Church. I have been the Children’s Coordinator at Crestwood Christian Church since April 2015. In 2013 I became a Certified Baby Sign Language Instructor, and offer baby signs play classes for babies who have not yet developed a full vocabulary but have the desire to make their wishes known.

My love of animals keeps me busy early mornings and late evenings with visits to the small barn where I board my horses.  I enjoy trail riding, but I’m content just spending time with the 2 trail horses, the mini donkey and the mini horse I call my babies. I also enjoy gardening and backyard bird watching.

Casey McDonald

Middle School Coordinator

casey@crestwoodchristian.org

A native to Midway, Kentucky, I moved to Austin, Texas with my family during my formative years; graduating from Texas Christian University in 1994.  I returned to my Bluegrass roots the next year, becoming a member of Crestwood after my father took the senior minister position.

Throughout my college years, I served with Disciples churches as a youth sponsor and camp counselor, also getting deeply involve with Habitat for Humanity, which lured me out west to work in Portland, Oregon for their local affiliate in 1997.

I returned “home” once again, marrying Melissa Hughes and beginning my secondary teaching career. Six years later, after adventuring to live in Oregon and North Carolina, Melissa and I established Lexington as our home for good, bringing first daughter, Dory, with us; and second daughter, Neala, was born not long after that.

I received my Master’s degree at Georgetown College in 2008, and continue to teach English at Tates Creek High School today.
